Ivan Oseledets Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (AIRI).

Professor Ivan Oseledets is a prominent Russian mathematician and computer scientist, currently serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Director General of the AIRI Institute. He was born in Moscow on July 6, 1983, into a family of mathematicians, and from an early age demonstrated a profound aptitude for the sciences.

He graduated with honors from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) in 2006 and completed his postgraduate studies at the Institute of Numerical Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, earning his Candidate of Sciences (PhD) in 2007 and his Doctor of Sciences (Habilitation) in 2012. In 2013, he joined the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), where he is a Full Professor and Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence Technologies.

Professor Oseledets is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking work on tensor decompositions, particularly the development of the tensor train (TT) format. His contributions to computational mathematics have provided efficient methods for solving high-dimensional problems in physics, chemistry, biology, and data analysis. His research has received wide acclaim, including the Russian President’s Award for Young Scientists in 2018, a Humboldt Research Award, and he is consistently ranked among the top 2% of most-cited scientists worldwide. He is also actively involved in the academic community, serving as an associate editor for leading journals and as an area chair for top-tier conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR.

Professor Ivan Tyukin is a Full Professor and the Head of the Laboratory for Reliable, Adaptive, and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence at the Skoltech AI Center . He holds a Doctor of Sciences (Habilitation) degree, which he received in 2006. His academic career has been international in scope; after completing his PhD in 2001, he worked as a Research Scientist at the RIKEN Brain Science Institute in Japan. He then moved to the United Kingdom, where he held various positions at the University of Leicester, including Professor of Applied Mathematics, and later joined the Department of Mathematics at King’s College London. Additionally, he has held an adjunct professorship at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

Professor Tyukin is an internationally recognized expert in the mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence, with research interests spanning machine learning, mathematical modelling, adaptive systems, and data analytics. His recent work focuses on developing a theory and practice for creating AI systems that are provably robust, resilient, certifiable, and trustworthy, especially for critical and socially significant applications such as medicine, law, and security. This includes addressing challenges related to adversarial attacks, data inconsistencies, and bias. In 2025, he received a prestigious grant from the Russian Science Foundation to establish a new laboratory dedicated to trustworthy AI. He has a broad network of collaborators, which includes leading researchers from the UK, Japan, and China. In 2026, he was appointed as a co-head of the International Joint Laboratory of AI for Industry (LAII), established between Skoltech and China’s Qingdao University of Science and Technology. He is active in the academic community, serving as an editor for the journal Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulations.
